Couple of years ago I read about the concept of choosing one word, which will be your guideline in the upcoming year. My 2020 "little word" was Sisterhood, and it really was a year of strengthening and expending my network with women.
Photography gives me a great opportunity to get to know new people, but also to connect more with the ones I already know. Photoshoots are followed by coffees, walks and chats, nourishing and empowering.
All this resulted this year in a very special book, as you may already know.
AD2020 made me - for obvious reasons - spend (even) more time online, than I usually do.
Having access to fast internet is a privilege, being able to video-call with my friends at any time, to enjoy podcasts and youtube tutorials in the evenings, not even mentioning working from home. It's awesome. BUT...
I noticed that social media take up disproportionately big chunk of my free time. Too big.
And even worse - they cause frustration (like for example when I notice that I lost couple of followers - why did they unfollow me? What did I do wrong? My strategy doesn't work... etc)
This is not what I want for myself. I want to shift my energy to OFFLINE activities, so I can share the results of them with people who want to follow me online. Not the other way around. Not by adjusting my life to the world of social media.
I need to take the pressure off my shoulders. People will not die if I don't post 4 times a week, right?
That's why my #onelittleword for 2021 is "OFFLINE"
Let it be a year full of fresh air, long walks, meeting with people (I know, I know...) and beautiful moments captured on camera.
And let's stay healthy!!
